Town bid for league double

WARRINGTON Town will be looking for their first league double of the season when they take on Trafford in the Evo-Stik First Division North at Cantilever Park tomorrow, Saturday, without young striker John Bathurst who has left the club.
The two sides met just over a month ago at Shawe View with Warrington taking the lead within a minute when Chris Gaghan slotted home an Alan Collins cross.
Mike Tomlinson doubled the advantage before half time with a great header. Trafford scored late on but Warrington held on for a well deserved victory.
Trafford boss Garry Vaughan and his team wil be looking for revenge and have made two signings since the teams last met. Brothers Chris and Jamie Baugley have joinedthe ranks having both played together recently at Salford City and New Mills and also represented Leigh Genesis last term.
Meanwhile Warrington have lost the services of fringe first team striker Jon Bathurst (pictured above) who has joined Evo-Stik Premier Division side Ashton United.
Bathurst joined Warrington during pre-season 2010 having represented a host of clubs during the previous season including Vauxhall Motors and AFC Liverpool to name a few.
Having featured in most of Town’s pre-season fixtures he found it difficult to break into the first team squad regularly making just 3 starts and numerous appearances from the bench.
Everyone connected with Warrington Town wish Jon the very best of luck at a higher level and thank him for his efforts in a Town jersey.
