IMAGES of Warrington reflecting changes from its traditional Lancashire roots to 21st century developments are featured in a new book.
"Warrington Through Time" by Janice Hayes, contains 180 photographs of Warrington over the years.
Janice, manager at Warrington Museum and a native of the town, illustrates the factors which have shaped its distinct character.
Her book covers developments such as the increase in number of vehicles on the road, and how once green fields have been transformed into industrial estates, housing or ring roads.
She said: "Many people think Warrington is a new town when in fact it has a rich and interesting history going back many, many years.
"We are lucky that local photographers have left us a fascinating archive of how Warrington has changed over the last century and a half and even in our lifetimes."
The book, published by Aberley and priced £14.99, is available from W H Smiths, Waterstones, and Martin's Newsagents in the town centre, and Forget Me Not Toys and Bookshop in Culcheth.
