End of season awards

WARRINGTON Town Skipper Mike Tomlinson won the manager’s Player of the

Year award while top goal scorer Chris Gahgan was the supporters’ Player

of the Year at the end of season presentations.
Gahgan also received a special trophy for being the club’s top scorer with 33 to his credit while Tom Hardwick was voted Players’ Player of the Year.
Head Groundsman John Barton was presented with a special award as the

club’s “unsung hero.”
Tomlinson (pictured left) was unavailable to collect his award but sent a special message to supporters and everyone connected with the club.
He said on the club’s message board: “I just want to say a big thank you on behalf of all the lads that have played this year for your loyal support.
“It has been brilliant playing in front of a stable crowd this year and the support you give the lads has been excellent.
“Alongside that is a big thank you to the Barmy Army (whom I have joined on the occasions I have not been playing) – you’ve been great.
“Obviously support has its up and downs but you have mainly stayed positive throughout.
“Next thanks goes to all the people who work behind the scenes at the club from the directors office, to John, to the tea bar, to the guys who help out in the changing rooms – there are too many people to mention but all are important cogs in the machine on matchdays.
“Apologies I missed the presentation and thanks to Joey for the Player of the Year award. I enjoyed it a lot this year at a club that is run the right way and I am looking forward (as the lads are) to the push for the league title next year!”
