Wolves confirm Giant signing!

WARRINGTON Wolves have confirmed Rugby league’s worst kept secret – the

signing of Huddersfield Giant’s Aussie full-back Brett Hodgson on a two

year deal from next season.
Head of Coaching Tony Smith said he was “delighted” to have secured the signing of the current “Man of Steel,” saying he will be a great asset “on and off the field.”
He said Hodgson would have stayed with the Giants had they offered him a two year deal instead of a one year option.
But there was no way Hodgson (pictured right) would be joining the Wolves any earlier than 2011, even though the deal was now out in the open.
“He is a true professional and will continue to give his all for the Giants.” said Smith.
“I am excited we have captured his signing but that is for the future now.”
But there will be no chance of the Wolves facing Hodgson in their forthcoming Challenge Cup clash as he has already been ruled out for the next two-three weeks with a thigh injury.
Brett was named 2009 Man of Steel in his first year at the Giants and also Rugby League Writers Association Player of the Year.
He represented New South Wales in 2002 and 2006 and made 200 plus appearances in the NRL playing for Parramatta Eels and Wests Tigers notching up over 1200 points. In 2005 Brett was part of the Wests Tigers side that won the Grand Final.
Brett was also part of the Giants side that reached last year’s Carnegie Challenge Cup Final at Wembley against the Wolves, touching down for a try and kicking two conversions.

Pictures show Hodgson surrounded by his future team mates at last season’s Challenge Cup final and in action against the Wolves earlier this season.
