Wolves march on in cup

WARRINGTON Wolves progressed to the last 16 of the Challenge Cup with a comfortable 48-24 victory over Championship outfit Featherstone Rovers as they ran in eleven tries at the Halliwell Jones today.
The Wolves started brightly opening up a 16-0 lead thanks to tries from Chris Bridge, Chris Riley and Richie Myler, with Ben Westwood converting one.
But Warrington were rocked as the visitors hit back with two tries from the impressive Jessie Joe Parker cutting the gap to just four points.
With Rovers pushing for a shock lead Warrington stepped up a gear and made the game safe by the break with tries from Vinnie Anderson, David Solomona and a second for the impressive Myler making it 32-12 at the interval.
Any concerns of a cup upset disappeared when Solomona went over for his second try on 50 minutes when he took three players over the line with him.
Myler then raced away for his hat-trick on 65 minutes which was goaled by Bridge to make it 42-12.
Rovers again showed some fine form as they hit back with tries from Liam Wellens and Stewart Dickens to give the scoreline some respectability but it was man of the match Myler who had the final say, as he kicked to the corner for Riley to touch down for his second try of the game. Bridge landed the conversion to complete the scoring to set up a mouthwatering re-match with Huddersfield Giants in the 5th round.
