POLICE are asking for witnesses after a pensioner was grabbed from behind and robbed while using a Warrington cash machine.
The 68-year old man was withdrawing cash from LloydsTSB on Knutsford Road in Latchford Village at just after 12.10pm on Sunday November 1.
He was pushed to the ground by a white man in his late teens or early 20s, who was wearing dark, possibly grey, clothing.
The thief grabbed the victim’s wallet which contained £295 and ran off down Thelwall Road towards the LIDL shop. The victim was shaken and had minor injuries to his left arm but was otherwise unhurt.
Police believe a girl in her later teens with long, blonde hair, who was seen nearby at the time, may be involved in the robbery. If she isn’t, police are asking her to contact them so that she can be eliminated from their enquiries.
An e-fit picture of the man police believe was the culprit has been issued (right)
Anyone who saw the thief, either before or after the incident, is asked to contact Detective Constable Pam Hopkins at Warrington CID on 01244 613835 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
