TWO goals from Skipper Mike Tomlinson secured all three points as Warrington Town defeated Mossley 2-0 at Cantilever Park.
A tower of strength at the back, man of the match Tomlinson, who is now plying his trade at his home town club after 13 years in the game, led by example and was delighted to get his two goals.
After the match an enthusiastic Tomlinson said: "I don't normally get two goals in a season so it was great to get two tonight.
"There is a great team spirit in the camp with quite a few Warrington lads in the team.I think this team is now capable of kicking on and we have nothing to fear when we take on Nantwich in the FA Cup next week."
His first half goal came from a goal mouth scramble and was wind assisted but his powerful second half header was a top drawer effort and delighted the home fans.
The decision to trial Friday night football at Cantilever Park also paid off with a significant increase in the gate with nearly 200 in the ground.
After a poor start to the season with four consecutive league defeats, Warrington have now climbed to mid table and can focus on next Saturday's mouthwatering clash with Unibond Premier outfit Nantwich in the FA Cup which is sure to attract a bumper crowd.
Nantwich who won the FA Vase at Wembley three years ago are sure to bring a large following and Town are urging the Warrington public, still on a high after their rugby neighbours Challenge Cup victory at Wembley, to get behind the team.

Pictures show skipper Mike Tomlinson scoring his second goal, Karl Connolly taking on the Mossley defence and a jubilant Tomlison celebrating a fine performance.
