Magistrates in Warrington issued a warrant for the arrest of Lesley Sampson when she failed to turn up at Warrington Magistrates’ on May 27.
She is accused of fly-tipping under the Environmental Protection Act.
Birchwood High School pupil George Sampson won Britain’s Got Talent last year and has just signed to perform with this year’s winners Diversity.
It is alleged his mother dumped the bags of letters from fans outside the family home in Lyster Avenue.
A summons letter was sent to both her listed addresses, one in London and one in Warrington.
Police were alerted when she failed to appear.Since his success last year, George has performed in the West End in the street dance show, Into The Hoods.
He has also danced at film premieres and has a huge fan following.
He turned on the Christmas lights in Warrington Town Centre last year – attracting huge local interest.
More recently he was the victim of an alleged assault when he returned to his home town only to be slapped in the face.
A Warrington Borough Council spokesperson said: “Earlier this year the council’s environmental enforcement team received a report of a fly tipping incident in the town. Following an investigation by one of our officers, evidence was retrieved and a prosecution followed under Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
“A local lady was subsequently summoned to appear before Warrington Magistrates last week but failed to attend and the court therefore issued a warrant for her arrest. She has since been in contact and a new date for appearance is to be arranged.”

  1. So putting out too many bags of paper for recycling is now a criminal offence. It would seem that Lesley has been the victim of green fascism. Oh and I would expect that a local “newspaper” would actually check a street name? Avenue? Not on any map I have seen of the area.

  2. Isn’t it time to say stop here because this is all wrong.

When I went to school, fly tipping was the criminal act of dumping rubbish in a country lane, not putting waste outside your own home for recycling.

Who gives these people the right to change the definition of fly tipping and make the act of simply putting your own rubbish out for collection into a criminal offence?
