WARRINGTON Town Ladies FC are

celebrating after being crowned champions following a thrilling end of

season victory over fellow title contenders Chester.
Warrington, needing a win or a draw to clinch the title, came from two goals down to eventually triumph 2-4 at Chester’s Upton Park Recreation Ground.
Goals from Lisa Kershaw, Emma Hickman, Clare Cassidy and Leah Ayrton sealed a famous victory ensuring Warrington were crowned Cheshire and Manchester Division One Champions.
They can now apply to join the North West Womens League and if successful will be just two steps off playing in the national league against clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool!
The women lost just two of 21 games to win the title and with an average age of just 21 the team hope to be able to build on the success and move up the leagues.
They hope to be able to parade their trophy at Warrington Town’s final home game of the season against Radcliffe on Saturday April 18th, kick off 3pm.
Pictures show captain Caffy Lake being presented with the trophy and the team celebrating their success.
