Junction improvements

A WARRINGTON junction is to be improved to make it safer.
New signalling will be introduced on the A574 Cromwell

Avenue/Calver Road junction from Tuesday, April 14.
To simplify the operation of the junction, the right turn from Calver Road onto Cromwell Avenue will be banned on an experimental basis. Vehicles wishing to turn right should use the nearby roundabout on the A49 Winwick Road to travel westbound on Cromwell Avenue.
A borough council spokesman said the new traffic signal scheme would address road safety concerns and make it easier for motorists to use the junction.

  1. “Road Safety Concerns” – they will need to address that by sorting out the lanes. Even after all this time, people are still cutting across to the left hand lane when coming off Winwick road because they think they can go straight on!!
