Offices and shop planned

TWO office units and a retail store or restaurant will be built on the site of a former embroidery workshop which was destroyed by fire some years ago, if Warrington planners give the go-ahead.
The proposals, which involve a single-storey building divided into three units, involve land at Weir View, off Knutsford Road, Latchford.
Access to the site would be from Carol Street, although the building would front onto Knutsford Road.
Parking for 18 cars would be provided, along with a cycle store.
A church occupies land to the rear of the site and there are houses on two sides, the closest of which would be 30 metres to the proposed building. A number of shops also occupy nearby sites
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved. They point out that the development would bring back into use a vacant piece of land in a prominent location.
The design is considered appropriate to the area.
