Bungalow plan for brownfield site

PLANS for a development of nine bungalows at Birchwood have been submitted to Warrington Borough Councils planning committee.
The scheme, in Delenty Drive, would involve the demolition of an existing derelict house in the centre of the site, which is largely covered by overgrown self-seeded trees. But there are two protected, mature oak trees on the site.
Applicants Classic Constractors and NHS Property Services say the development would consist of five detached houses and four bungalows.
Planning officers say the scheme involves the redevelopment of a brownfield site. It is close to local services and is consistent with the need to boost significantly the supply of housing in the area.
Facilities in the area include schools, doctors, dentists, leisure and sports, district and local shopping, as well as a wide range of employment opportunities.
They are recommending the scheme be approved when the committee meets next Wednesday.
