VIDEO & PICTURES: WARRINGTON’S landmark Mr Smith’s building will disappear forever it became apparent as demolition work continued this morning.
It had been hoped that the front facade and tower could be saved but the collapse of the roof caused too much damage. Work is continuing to make the area safe and re-open surrounding roads to traffic.
It is hoped that roads which are currently closed will be re-opened later today.
Talks are scheduled to take place between Warrington Borough Council and the site owners next week to discuss the future for the site.
