Warrington Town bidding to create more history

WARRINGTON Town will be bidding to create more history when they appear in their first cup final for twenty years when they take on Farsley FC in the Doodson Sport Cup at Stockport County’s Edgeley Park on Thursday April 30, kick off 7.45pm.
Warrington have met Farsley twice in the league this season, winning 2-1 at home and losing 1-0 away.
It will bring the curtain down on a history-making season for Shaun Reid’s team following on from the memorable FA Cup run which saw the Yellows reach the second round proper, claiming the scalp of League Two Exeter City, before bowing out at Gateshead – with both games screen live on TV.
Warrington will be hoping the crowds who turned out to cheer them on against Exeter and the 1,000 who travelled to Gateshead will get behind the team at Stockport in the final game of the season.
Reid has told his players they are playing for their futures as they bid to build on the most memorable season in the club’s history.
Tomorrow they travel to Brighouse, kick off 3pm, looking to build on their Easter successes against Padiham and Prescot Cables, to keep their very slim play-off hopes alive.
