A HOUSEHOLDER has won a planning battle with Warrington Borough Council after the authority refused planning consent for a single storey side extension at his home.
An inspector appointed by the Government heard Mr R.Davies’ appeal and ruled that he could go ahead with the extension at his home in Seymour Drive, Padgate.
The council refused Mr Davies’ application on the grounds it would have a detrimental effect on the character and appearance of the local area.
But the inspector, Gary Deane, visited the site and noted that several nearby houses with similar extensions. Although they did not project as far in front of the building line as Mr Davies’ plan, they indicated that the new extension would not be an uncharacteristic addition to the local area, nor an incongruous feature in the street scene
