Local people recognised at Positive Change Awards

A NUMBER of local residents and businesses were celebrating last week after their achievements were recognised at the first ever Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT) Positive Change Awards.
The prestigious event, held at the Village Hotel in Warrington, was organised by GGHT with support from Warrington Borough Council (WBC). It helped to showcase and celebrate the achievements of the huge number of local residents and businesses the Trust have worked with and who have consistently exceeded expectations.
The host for the evening was Pete Pinnington and guests and nominees were treated to passionate speeches about the town and its economy from Warrington & Co. Managing Director, Steve Park (pictured below) and GGHT Chair, Roy Smith.

The Positive Change Awards 2015 winners were:

Speaking at the awards, GGHT Chair Roy Smith said: “It was fantastic to see so many local residents here tonight who have taken on Trainee or Apprenticeship roles with GGHT or worked with the Trust’s Employment Initiatives Team to move into employment, training or volunteering roles.
“I am particularly delighted to have seen the great work we have delivered in partnership with Warrington Borough Council to support local small businesses, charities and voluntary sector organisations through the wage incentive scheme.
“A massive congratulations to all winners and nominees, and a huge thank you for all their hard work.”
Also giving a keynote speech on the evening was Steve Park, Managing Director at Warrington & Co, who said: “Warrington’s business community relies on the strength of its partnerships; and this is evident in the role that GGHT plays and the award winners, congratulations to them all.”
The GGHT Trainee of the Year Award went to, Kamilla Kasprowiak who has been successful in gaining a permanent positon with GGHT as Neighbourhood Officer.
Kamilla said: “It was a great night and I was delighted to win the award for Trainee of the Year. The support I received form everybody at GGHT has helped me significantly develop my skills and confidence and I am now looking forward to the future.”
