Man rescued from smoke-filled flat

A MAN was rescued from a smoke filled flat at Warrington today – after a neighbour raised the alarm.
Three fire engines from Warrington and Stockton Heath went to the scene at Cantilever Gardens, in Station Road, Latchford after the neighbour smelled smoke coming from the property.
They escorted a man from the flat and tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet. Two firefighters were equipped with breathing apparatus.
A ventilation unit was then used to clear smoke from the property.
Earlier, a hose reel jet was used to tackle a blaze involving a vehicle in Tannery Lane, Penketh. One firefighter wore breathing apparatus.
