SUPERHEROES at Warrington have helped raise more than £3,500 for Red Nose Day.
And they are hoping to raise even more this weekend thanks to the generosity of the town’s shoppers.
The superheroes – three Super Women, one Super Mummy and Bat Man – are members of staff at the TK Maxx store in Golden Square
They dressed as super heroes to raise money for the charity, which helps those living tough lives in the UK and Africa.
Store manager Kasia Kuczynska said: “We had three Super Women, a Super
Mummy and Bat Man join us for the day much to the surprise of our customers who have really got into the spirit of helping us raise money.”
The store has an official link-up with the comic cause and branches across the country have been selling T-shirts and homeware including diaries and aprons in a bid to raise more cash.
Staff at the Golden Square store also took part in an onesie weekend where they wore their onesies to work and also climbed aboard an exercise bike in an attempt to ride the equivalent of scaling Snowdon and back down.
Members of the Warrington Dance Studio also dropped in to bring in more funds.
Kasia added: “We have raised around £3,500 in this store and feel sure this will get a significant boost over the coming weekend. We would like to thank all our staff and shoppers for their efforts in helping us raise this money.”
Golden Square director Ian Cox said: “Our shoppers are always very generous in the way they support charity events at Golden Square and the Comic Relief fundraising efforts at our stores are no exception. Congratulations to Kasia and her team for all their hard work in raising donations for this fantastic cause.”
Meanwhile Staff and students at Warrington Collegiate turned the college into a sea of red in support of Red Nose Day.
Staff and students turned up wearing red noses and red items of clothing in support of the appeal as well as getting involved in a wide range of
activities throughout the day to raise cash including funky photo booth, jelly bean jar, fund a face, cake sale, boogie bounce tasters, PS4 Fifa, table tennis marathon and lots more.
The theme for this year’s appeal up and down the country was ‘Make Your Face Funny For Money.
Warrington Collegiate went one better with funky faces and crazy hair, arm painting and lots more.
Jordyn Layfield, Sport Activator at Warrington Collegiate says, “Once again our staff and students put on a tremendous number of fun filled events to make Red Nose Day a day to remember. We raised bucket loads of cash and are set to break through the ceiling of our £200 target.”
