Grants available to boost town centre

COMMUNITY groups wanting to apply for grants under the Warrington Town Centre Local Fund scheme must do so by Friday, March 27.
The scheme is able to fund project by groups that help deliver the area plan. Grants of up to £1,000 are available and larger grants can be considered where the case supporting the bid demonstrates that the anticipated impact will be significant.
Projects will need to meet at least one of the following priorities:
*Help maintain the town centre as a successful retail destination and increase the variety of uses to enhance the leisure and cultural offer
*Improve the quality of the town centre environment
*increase community involvement and responsibility
*enable a thriving voluntary and community sector
*increase skills and improve opportunities to support local people back into work
*support events in the town centre will help stimulate football.
