Deadline extended for funding bids

OMEGA Warrington Ltd (OWL) – the partnership behind the giant Omega development site – has announced it is extending the deadline for its Community Bid for Funding initiative to March 31 – giving interested parties extra time to submit their entries.
Launched by OWL in 2013, the Omega-led enterprise recognises the tremendous work carried out in the Warrington area by local charities and voluntary groups, providing financial support towards their specific needs and upcoming projects.
Funding is available charities, community initiatives and/or sports groups and initiatives, and has already benefited a wide range of local causes through last year’s initiative.
Amongst those to receive support last year were Warrington Charities Trust, The Relationship Centre and Clean up My Community.
Help was also given to the Warrington Disability Partnership by D Morgan, the contractors for Omega’s infrastructure works, which helped WDP revitalise its car park at the ‘Centre for Independent Living’, volunteering their services and materials to create additional disabled parking spaces and more spacious bays for visitors.
Andrew Sutherland, joint managing director for Miller Developments, partner of OWL, said: “Omega’s Community Bid for Funding has proven to be a hugely successful tool in helping local groups to enhance the great work they are doing within the community and fulfil some of the many objectives they have for improving their services and making a difference.
“We’ve had a very good response rate so far and hope that even more people are encouraged to enter now the deadline for entries has been extended.”
Those wishing to be considered should send a short one page bid including: Individual/group/charity/ project name and who is involved, information on what they do – or would like to do, what support they would like to bid for ie., time or funding, a statement on what difference the funding would make to the group, contact details (tel, email and postal address.
Commercial organisation will not be considered.
Bids can be sent by post or email to Jo Sistern, GL Hearn Limited, 280 High Holborn, London WC1V 7EE or email [email protected]
