Wolves name squad for Hull KR visit

WARRINGTON Wolves boss Tony Smith has named his 19 man squad which aims to right the wrongs of defeat in France last week for the visit of Hull KR on Sunday, with a couple of familiar faces returning to the Halliwell Jones.
The Wolves claimed a convincing win in the pre-season encounter at The Halliwell Jones Stadium but Rovers will come into this fixture on the back of a victory over Wigan Warriors last weekend.
Contrastingly, Warrington will be looking to right the wrongs from last week’s away defeat to Catalans Dragons in the South of France.
There will be a couple of familiar faces in the opposition camp with Tyrone McCarthy now playing for the Hull side and Willie Poching (pictured right) on the coaching side. Willie Poching interview 0 02 52-07
Head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith said: “Hull KR will be coming here encouraged by their victory last weekend. It’s only natural when you get a scalp over one of the big boys in the competition. There’s no doubt they have got better as the competition has gone on which was always going to be the case. They’ve had a lot of turnover in personnel and it always takes time to bed in, build combinations and gel together. They seem to be doing that now. They have scored some good points within their season so far too but have probably leaked more than they’d have liked to. It’s more about fixing ourselves up this week and making sure we get back to the standards we’ve set ourselves which is important for us.”
Smith names this week’s 19-man squad.
