Police probe container blaze

POLICE are investigating a fire involving a large amount of rubbish stacked around a storage container at Warrington.
The fire broke out in Mercer Street, Burtonwood late last night and firefighters discovered it involved a large amount of material which had been placed against te container.
Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze and then use hydraulic cutting gear to access the container to check for fire spread.
Police appealed for information about the incident. Anyone who can help is asked to call police on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
