Cannabis bridge 1POLICE have uncovered a cannabis farm in Warrington town centre – the third to be found in the last two weeks.
Officers from Warrington Town Centre Neighborhood Policing Unit swooped on an address in Lower Bridge Street at 7am today and arrested three people.
Inspector Richie Watts said: “In total 375 cannabis plants of varying stages of growth have been recovered from these premises.
“In addition, there was also a large quantity of cannabis which had already been dried and bagged up ready for sale. Overall, we believe that the total value of the drugs is in the region of £500,000.
“This is a great result as we believe that these drugs could well have been destined for the streets of Warrington.”
The three people arrested are now being held in police custody.
Inspector Watts added: “This is the third cannabis farm officers in Warrington have found in the past two weeks, and it shows that we are taking action against illegal drugs.
“We know what negative impact illegal drug use and supply can have on the community and it is an issue we take extremely seriously. Members of the public can rest assured that our efforts in this area will continue. I wish to thank members of the public and the Licensed Trade who have come forward with information on this occasion.cannabis bridge 2
“Information is vital in the fight against drug related crime and I urge anyone who is concerned about drugs related crimes in their local community to contact Cheshire Police on 101.
“Drug related activity is not acceptable and local officers will continue to react swiftly and positively to any information in relation to drug related crime in the area.”
