A CROFT resident has won planning permission for a two-storey home extension, despite opposition from the parish council.
Borough planning chiefs gave the go-ahead for the extension in Kenyon Lane, Croft despite being told the extension would normally be considered of disproportionate size.
Croft parish council had argued the extension would amount to overdevelopment of the site.
An officer’s report stated that although the proposal would result in the property being increased in size by more than a third, there was an existing planning consent, dating from 2012, which although slightly smaller in terms of footprint was more bulky in design.
The new proposal would be comfortably contained within the residential curtilage of the house and would not appear unduly prominent.
