WARRINGTON Borough council has once again supported Dignity Action Day.
Cllr Pat Wright visited Brampton Lodge Nursing Home to help mark Warrington’s support for the annual day.
Cllr Wright, the borough council’s executive board member for health and wellbeing and adult services, explained: “Dignity Action Day highlights the importance of dignity and respect in providing care, whether in hospitals and care homes, in peoples own homes or through other community services.
“Dignity Action Day is a reminder that dignity is everyone’s business, and that we all need dignity and respect the whole year round.”
“Thousands of hours of care and support are delivered every day by staff who take pride in their work, who are sensitive to the needs of people receiving services, and who treat people as individuals. A lot of other local health and social care workers will be promoting dignity in their place of work on Dignity Action Day.”
Dignity Action Day gives health and social care workers and members of the public an opportunity to take action in their place of work and communities to promote Dignity in Care by organising local events.
Activities at Brampton Lodge included entertainment and a buffet lunch and Broomfields primary school visited the home to sing and recite poems.
