CHARITY fundraisers have just done their sums and realised that a fun day they organised before Christmas raised a staggering £1,803.
The event was organised by Warrington Youth Club – and it enabled them to provided a warm Christmas dinner for 50 disadvantaged and vulnerable families in Warrington.
More than 200 children and young people benefitted from the initiative, which also provided 95 food hampers for needy and homeless people.
Catering boss Nick Blake led a team of enthusiastic volunteers to provide the food while the youth club provided a day of fun for the families.
Santa handed out more than 1,052 presents.
Nick said: “It was a tough day and without the support of our clients’ generosity, helping us to raise the money needed for the day, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve such a fantastic result for those that attended, and I feel honoured to have been able to cook these very special Christmas dinners.”
