Basketball stars will share their skills

TOP basketball players and coaches are to hold a three-day “Basketball Camp” at Warrington’s Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub over the February half-term holiday.
The camp will see children between the ages of seven and 16 take part in a range of exciting drills and games that will develop their basketball skills over the course of the three days.
The professional players will also show off their own techniques and demonstrate the importance of working in a team.
Leisure and lifestyle group LiveWire and the Cheshire Phoenix Basketball Club have worked closely together to bring a range of activities to young people around Warrington that tie into the “Hoops 4 Health” programme.
Matthew Parker, sport engagement officer for LiveWire said: “We are delighted to be working with Cheshire Phoenix Basketball Club to host the
camp. The opportunity to meet, and be coached by professional basketball players from across the world, is very exciting and something not to be missed”.
The Hoops for Health programme is currently being delivered in 16 primary schools across the town. The aim of the project is to utilise the sport of basketball to engage with young children and encourage them to stay physically fit, eat a balanced diet and raise awareness of the health risks associated with smoking.
The camps take place from Monday to Wednesda, February 16-18.
Morning sessions for children aged 7–11 are from 10am to 12pm and afternoon sessions for ages 12–16 years are from 1pm to 3pm
Cost is £5 per session or £12.50 for all three.
