A WOMAN and her grandson were taken to hospital after their car caught fire at Warrington.
The incident was on the A57 near the Sankey Green roundabout and police had to close the A57 for a time while fire crews dealt with the blaze.
One firefighter wearing breathing apparatus tackled the outbreak with a hose reel jet.
The woman and her grandson, who had got out of the car before the fire started, did not require treatment and were allowed home after four hours.
