Film club for south Warrington

WARRINGTON Borough Council’s South Neighbourhood Team have organised a film afternoon for local residents.
‘The Sound of Music’ will be the first showing for St Werburgh’s film club, this Friday (Jan 30) at 1-3pm.
There will be light refreshments available and there is no fee but admission is by donation.
The film club began last year and is funded by the South Local Area Fund.
The Sound of Music is a 1965 American musical drama film directed and produced by Robert Wise and starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The film is derived from the Broadway musical, with songs written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, Based on the book The Story of the Trapp Family.
Cllr Kate Hannon, (pictured) executive board member for leisure, community and culture, said: “What a wonderful film for the New Year, everyone is looking forward to seeing it. If you would like to come along and join in with us, it’s going to be a wonderful afternoon.”
