THE Blue Apple Heroes’ charity is asking for public support and donations to help continue its support for army veterans and their families.
Amongst the things they are looking are musical instruments, ahead of new music lessons for veterans starting next month, and also radiators, partitions, plaster, plasterboard and door frames for the new HQ, based on Rylands Street.
Mark Smith, from Blue Apple Heroes, said: “Now we have the Blue Apple HQ we need the public’s support more than ever. It is a massive task now to stay in this building as it is will provide a place for veterans and their families who need help. We want to help by preventing suicide, to save marriages, also prevent family break up.
“By helping our guys get better and supporting them and showing them how to manage their illness, the effect on the family ripples throughout. The single guys have more confidence, though the drop in, veterans will have more friends and eventually a bigger family to connect and associate with.”
Recent fundraising has included £300 by Irene Dennis, who was sponsored to have a tattoo, while a further £808 was raised in ASDA Birkenhead.
