THE Mersey Forest has agreed to donate trees to plant on the Lumb Brook Millennium Green at Appleton.
Trustees of the Green met a representative of the Mersey Forest on site to discuss planting fruit trees and it was agreed the additional trees would benefit the Green. A site was chosen.
Twelve trees of mixed varieties will be planted by volunteers under the supervision of Bob Jennings, recently retired chairman of the Millennium Green Trust.
Long term trustee Julie Kueres said: “Bob has so many skills and years of experience that are so valuable to the Millennium Green.
He has done so much for us and we are really pleased he will continue to work with us in the future.”
New chairman of the Trust is Elaine Tate.
