Police searching for missing woman find body

POLICE in Warrington searching for a missing woman have found a body in woodland a few miles from her home.
Margery Selby, 77, (pictured) was last seen at around 2 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday 15 January 2015, when she left her home in Rixton Park Homes, Moss Side Lane, Rixton to go for a walk. When she failed to return the alarm was raised and a search commenced. Police were helped by members of Cheshire Search and Rescue, along with members of the public who also gave their time to search for the missing woman.
At around 1250 hours on Saturday 17 January 2014, the body of a woman was found in woodland at Rixton, a few miles from where Margery went missing. There are no suspicious circumstances, and next of kin have been informed. The body has yet to be formally identified.
Ins Neil Drum of Warrington Police said, ” I would like to thank those members of the public who gave up their time to assist officers in Warrington in the search, and specifically I would like to thank the members of Cheshire Search and Rescue who turned out and used their skills and expertise to support us. This is a very tragic outcome, and our thoughts are with the family of the deceased at this difficult time.”
