FIVE free “healthy ageing” sessions are to be held for the over 55s in Warrington.
They are taking place at the Laira Court sheltered housing scheme in Orford and run by one of the UK’s largest housing associations, the Your Housing Group, with backing from Warrington Borough Council and the NHS.
The aim is to give older people advice and information to maintain their health and wellbeing.
Talks will cover a range of topics including fall prevention, entitlement to welfare benefits, and cancer and dementia support.
The sessions take place every Wednesday from 2pm -3.30pm.
Andy Hodson, sheltered housing manager at Your Housing Group, said: “We are always looking for ways to help the local community. We’d like to invite all older people in Warrington to come along to these sessions, and we hope it helps to improve health and wellbeing by providing good quality advice and information on issues that affect them.”
A limited number of places are available. Anyone wishing to attend must register by contacting Your Housing Group’s Sheltered Team on 0161 248 2328.
Sessions will run until February 11.
