LONG serving prop Paul Wood has left Warrington Wolves by request, and joined Championship side Featherstone Rovers.
Wood, 33, made 339 appearances for the Primrose and Blue since making his debut in 2000, scoring 50 tries.
Head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith said: “I’d like to thank Paul for his contribution to the club. He’s provided 15 years of great service. Paul expressed a desire for a new challenge and this request was granted.
“Competition for places is tough and we need people ready for that challenge. There is an exciting time ahead with the new staff, players and improvement of training facilities, therefore we require everyone to be 100% committed to the Warrington cause.
“We wish Paul and his family all the best for the future.”
Meanwhile, the Wolves have signed their former academy hooker Andy Ackers on a month’s loan from League 1 club Swinton Lions.
