Custody visitors wanted

VOLUNTEERS are being sought to take on the role of Custody Visitors in Cheshire.
The office of Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer wans members of the public to come forward to help with the task of visiting Cheshire Police’s three custody suites at Runcorn, Middlewich and Chester.
Custody Visitors are volunteers who visit one of the three police custody suites to check on the conditions and welfare of people being detained in police custody. They are impartial and independent of the police service.
Anyone interested in becoming a custody visitor should email their name and address to [email protected] or telephone 01606 364103 for an application pack.
Sny questions regarding the role should be put to the Governance Officer on 01606 364005.
Closing date for applications is Friday January 23.
