Home extension approved

A CONTROVERSIAL plan for a two storey extension at the front of a house at Culcheth has been given the go-ahead by Warrington planning chiefs.
Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council opposed the scheme in Thompson Avenue, along with two neighbours.
But the borough council’s planning committee decided to grant permission.
Members were told the scheme involved introducing two habitable rooms at the front of the house. But a distance of more than 21m would be maintained to the dwellings directly opposite.
Planning officers said the extension would not project beyond the main front elevation of the house next door, because of the staggered nature of the houses. They recommended the scheme be approved.
The parish council had expressed concern about the size and height of the extension and the impact on the house next door.
