Kind-hearted law firm launch food bank

BIG hearted staff at legal firm FDR Law in Stockton Heath have collected dozens of food tins, packets and cartons to donate to a local food bank run by the Parish Church of St Thomas with St Mary Magdelene.
Inspired by the financial hardship of some of their clients, solicitors Emma Allchurch and Jennifer Roulston appealed to their own staff to donate a few items from their weekly shop.
Emma, who is a residential property solicitor based at the FDR office on Walton Road, said they had been overwhelmed at the response.
“Almost everyone here has been in a position where money has been tight in the past. It really struck a chord with our staff, knowing some people in Stockton Heath were struggling to feed their families, particularly during the school summer holidays.
“The food bank at St Thomas’s actually ran out of food at times during the summer break so there is still a massive need for us all to pull together to help.
“Organising a food bank at the office made it very easy for staff to give and it’s definitely something we will think about doing again in the future.”
