Kitchen blaze caused by washing machine

0

FIRE broke out in the kitchen of a house at Warrington last night – apparently as a result of an electrical fault on a washing machine.
The blaze was at a house in Poppyfields, Saxon Park, Great Sankey and fire engines from Warrington and Stockton Heath went to the scene.
The electricity supply was isolated and a hose reel jet used to extinguish the flames. A ventilation unit was used to clear smoke from the property.
Crews removed the washing machine from the house and gave advice on fire safety before leaving.
