Council act on uneven pavements

PAVEMENTS on a Warrington bungalow estate have been resurfaced after residents called on the borough council to take action.
People living near the Bewsey Park Community Centre had raised concerns about the paving around the bungalows as some have mobility issues and have struggled with the uneven paths.
Troutbeck Avenue was of particular concern as it is used by children going to school on bicycles and parents with push chairs.
Work was carried out in Troutbeck Avenue, Bagot Avenue, Delves Avenue and Haryngton Avenue.
Cllr Pat Wright, the council’s lead member for health, wellbeing and adult services said: “I’m absolutely delighted this has been completed and it will make a real difference to the area. The work also means access in and out of the properties in the area has improved.
Cllr Kate Hannon, lead member for leisure, community and culture added: “I hope this shows that when residents have genuine concerns then the council will, where possible, listen and take action. Small improvements make a difference to people feeling confident about getting out and about.”
The work is part of the wider Grey to Green environmental improvement initiative which will see works to upgrade Dallam recreation ground, Bewsey Meadows, improvements to Longshaw Street and much more.
