Christmas arrives at Walton Lea Partnership

CHRISTMAS is one of the favourite times of year at The Walton Lea Partnership and this year the staff volunteers and beneficiaries have a number of exciting projects underway for the whole community to enjoy.
Visitors are able to choose from a selection of upcycled furniture as part of the ‘Take a Seat’ project; wooden reindeer wall decorations and photo frames make perfect gifts for Christmas. The workshops have also been thriving, and the team have been making crafts such as bird boxes, wreaths and seasonal decorations available to be bought from the shop.
If a loved one has asked for a bike this year then the ‘Recycled Cycles’ project has plenty for Santa to choose from; bikes of all sizes for any member of the family.
The team has also made and sold over 300 wooden reindeers that are now being enjoyed by schools, businesses and friends of the charity, who have come to buy and collect them from far and wide.
The farm shop is fuller than ever with lovely hamper fillers to buy; a variety of enjoyable treats including chutneys, fudges and local apple juice are on sale throughout December.
All the money made from the sales will be re-invested back into the charity, allowing it to support more beneficiaries in 2015 and beyond.
Commenting on Christmas activities, manager at The Walton Lea Partnership, Kate Fitch said: “We love Christmas at The Walton Lea Partnership, it’s one of our busiest times and it’s great to see all the money that’s raised for the charity. Not only this, but all the staff and beneficiaries have so much fun making the decorations to sell in the shop.
“Each Christmas more and more familiar and new faces come to visit us at Walton Lea. With a few weeks left to Christmas we want to encourage people to come to the site and have a look around at all the wonderful things that are on offer, the proceeds of which go to such worthy cause.”
