Teenager stabbed in head during gang knife attack

POLICE are appealing for information following a serious assault in Warrington involving a 16-year-old youth being stabbed in the head with a knife and hit with a bottle after being set upon by a gang of young males.
The attack took place at around 5pm on Saturday, November 29, when the victim, a 16-year-old male from Warrington, was walking down Dorchester Road, Great Sankey when a group of males ran at him. The young man was hit with a glass bottle, assaulted whilst on the floor and stabbed in the head with a knife.The offenders then ran off.
As a result of the attack, the victim sustained two puncture wounds to the head and a number of scratches. After initial treatment by paramedics, the
victim was taken to Warrington Hospital where he received a number of stitches to his wounds and later discharged.
Four suspects, all male, aged between 16 and 18 and local to the area, were arrested in relation to the incident but have since been bailed pending further police enquiries.
Anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 657 of 29/11/2014.
