CHEERFUL volunteer Sue Parker has been awarded a certification of appreciation for clocking up 50 hours voluntary contribution as a catering assistant at Orford Community Hub Café.
Sue has taken part in supporting the community café along with the Hobby Cooks. Hobby Cooks is a pilot scheme, where budding cooks can take part in community cooking workshops and work towards gaining their level 2 Food and Safety Hygiene certificates as well as gaining valuable work experience and learning new cooking skills such as prepping food and designing menus.
Cllr Kate Hannon, executive board member for leisure, community and culture said: “I’m delighted to see Sue recognised for her hard work and dedication at the community café. I would also like to say a huge thank you to Stephen Murphy for delivering this opportunity and the hobby cooks pilot scheme and for all his hard work.”
Stephen Murphy from Murphs Pantry Catering said: “It’s been a great experience to watch Sue develop and gain in confidence over the past few months.”
