A CHARITY Winter Wonderland organised by Warrington based Tammy Silcock returns to Manchester this weekend at EventCity, next to the Trafford Centre.
The UK’s largest indoor Christmas theme park will open its doors to the general public on Saturday December 13 and run until Sunday January 4.
It includes more than 40 family rides and attractions all under one roof, as well as lots of other activities and the spectacular Christmas circus, which now has seating for more than 700 and is performed throughout the sessions.
Stilt walkers, Christmas fairies and fairy-tale characters will mingle with the crowds, as will children’s TV stars Sooty, Sweep and Soo from The Sooty Show.
Warrington based Tammy Silcock of Kingpin Events, the organiser of Winter Wonderland said: “We are delighted to be returning with Winter Wonderland to EventCity after the huge success of our first event last year. This year we aim to be bigger and better and provide a fun-filled day out for families, whatever the weather.
“This is entertainment on a huge scale with lots of rides and attractions, The Sooty Show, A Christmas Circus and even a chance to meet Santa Claus. Last year’s charity evening proved a huge success and was very humbling for everyone involved. It was very special and our guests thoroughly enjoyed being the first visitors to enjoy the Winter Wonderland experience.”
The event will be officially opened on Friday by more than 1500 people carefully chosen by north west and Warrington based charities.
Organisers invited charities to be the first visitors through the doors to experience this year’s Winter Wonderland. The 1,500 tickets are worth a total of almost £30,000. Charities whose work specifically benefits children and their families; disadvantaged young people; and bereaved families were invited to apply for tickets and the response was overwhelming.
Tickets are priced at £18.50 for adults and children over 3. Under 3s are free. A family ticket (2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children) costs £60 and OAP tickets are £13.
