A FREE carol service takes place at the Lewis Carroll Centre, Daresbury on Saturday, December 13 at 6.30pm.
“Carols in Wonderland” will be Christian Aid North West’s “Big Christmas Sing” with musicians, singers, and festive all taking part.
Eirlys Jessop, Christian Aid’s regional co-ordinator, said: “This is a carol concert with a twist, taking up the theme of Alice in Wonderland – join us for a Mad Hatter’s experience”!
Visitors can expect performances from Trevor Dennis and The Mersey Belles, a Christmas Medley from Stagecoach, and carols sung by Moore Primary School Choir, Daresbury Community Choir and Centenary Theatre Company.
Funds raised from the concert will support Christian Aid partners in Kenya, delivering hope to many communities this Christmas.
In Kenya, less than half of all births are attended by a medical professional, and many women are forced to give birth in dangerous
conditions. The money raised will help to make childbirth a time of joy and hope for thousands of families across Kenya.
Carols in Wonderland is part of Christian Aid’s Christmas Appeal, for which the UK Government has agreed to match every pound raised.
This means that all contributions made at the event will double the difference for people living in poverty.
More information about the event is available at the Christian Aid North West office on 01925 573769 or visit www.christianaid.org.uk/northwest.
