2014 SUV’s worth considering

SUVs are back in style for UK car buyers. More people are signing up for the 4×4 driving experience, which offers stylish looks, the ability to cope in all weather conditions, and now astonishingly efficient engines. Fascinatingly, some of the SUV models have dropped the high cost tag associated with running them. We are going to look at 3 of the top ones you should consider. None of these are on the list of the most stolen cars in the UK, which is excellent for your insurance premiums too!

Hyundai Santa Fe

Are you still on the fence about the capabilities of Korean forged vehicles? This is the car intended to help you make up your mind. It is high quality and very attractive. The stylish lines on this vehicle are a sharp departure from the boxy feel of the 2001 version. Hyundai moved into the premium market convincingly with the emergence of this car.
The Santa Fe is a convenient family car, and with the intelligent 4WD system, you get a car that feels very secure in slippery conditions. It has hill descent control that helps you stay in control, while the 4WD lock also boosts the off-road experience. With its Trailer Stability Assist, the Sante Fe feels the same whether you are driving with the full 500kg load allowance, or driving empty.
There is a seven-seat alternative but the smaller model is the more acclaimed option.

Jeep Cherokee

The new Jeep Cherokee is unquestionably one of the best-driving small jeeps around. It doesn’t matter if you are a newcomer or purist; this car is guaranteed to please. This SUV is solid, not featherweight, and has good on-road dynamics. At present, only a 2 litre turbo diesel engine with either 140 or 170hp is offered in the UK . The latter is the better option if you are looking for all-wheel drive and towing capability. It also offers a nine-speed automatic gearbox for motorway cruising. The technology, materials and finish found in the cabin rival those in the Grand Cherokee!

Range Rover Sport

The hybrid between the Range Rover and the Evoque is the Range Rover sport. Its hybrid nature makes it an SUV that offers mud-plugging ability, as well as luxury cruising whenever you need it.
This SUV can happily take 5 people but there is a seven-seat option as well. Before shooting out for the seven seat option, keep in mind that the last seat on this version is rather cramped and may not suit an adult. Whichever version you go for you will be pleased with the powerful off-road experience of the Range Rover Sport.
With the Terrain Response system, you get the standard air-suspension for tarmac, gravel, snow, mud, sand and rocks. The beautiful TFT displays and optional wade depth monitor keep you up to date of the Range Rover’s movements.
You can’t go wrong with any of these SUVs.
