Volunteers clean up their streets

THIRTY volunteers of all ages spent a day cleaning up the streets around their area – helped by Warrington Borough Council’s central neighbourhood team and the Fairfield Community Association.
Fly tipping in back streets around Fairfield Community Hub was removed and information was distributed to the local community educating on how fly tipping impacts on the environment and local resources.
Cllr Kate Hannon (pictured), the council’s lead member for leisure, community and culture, said: “We are delighted to support these clean-up days and are eager to ensure that local communities in Warrington have the tools and support to keep their area clean and tidy.
“It’s fantastic that so many local volunteers were willing to give up their Saturday to make a difference in their area. I would like to thank all those involved in the project for all their hard work and enthusiasm.”
Anyone who would like to get involved in a community clean-up should contact the council’s neighbourhood team on 01925 241360.
