Health chiefs join local compact

HEALTH chiefs in Warrington are showing their commitment to voluntary organisations in the town by teaming up with Local Compact – a partnership between the borough council and third sector organisations.
The council has been working with Warrington Voluntary Action to promote a third version of the Local Compact, which builds on existing partnerships between public authorities and the third sector.
Now Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has added its input to the initiative.
It has been recognised that different organisations working in close partnership with each other
can lead to improved services and a better understanding of local people’s needs.
The third sector consists of community and voluntary organisations, charities and community groups that work on a non-profit basis.
Paul Steele, Warrington CCG’s head of engagement, experience and communications, said: “The Compact is a great way of showing the people of Warrington that we’re dedicated to working together with other organisations to improve the healthcare services we commission.”
Becky Brown, partnership development officer for Warrington Voluntary Action, said: “The Local Compact for Warrington sets out a framework for public sector and third sector organisations to work together in partnership.
“It has been updated this year to include case studies which show readers how the framework can be used in practice. To coincide with the launch of the refreshed Local Compact, a Compact Kite Mark is being awarded to organisations who have signed up, which aims to promote the value of partnership working.”
