Police hunt for armed gang following raid on Burtonwood store

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a shop in Burtonwood, Warrington, involving three men wearing balaclavas who escaped with a quantity of cigarettes.
The armed robbery took place at a shop on Mercer Street, Burtonwood, Warrington last night Monday (Nov 17) at 7pm when three masked men entered the store and shouting ‘no-one move?.
After entering the store one of the men, who was carrying a crow bar, kept the door closed to stop people from entering or leaving the store, whilst the other two offenders went behind the counter to steal a quantity of cigarettes. These were placed into a large 1 tonne builders bag which they dragged behind them. All three males made off in silver/grey vehicle in an unknown direction
The first man, who had a Liverpool accent, is described as approximately 6ft tall, a stocky build, wearing a black balaclava and black gloves; he was wearing a black jacket with a zip up jacket and at the time of the incident he was carrying a white bag with two large handles on it and pink writing on the side.
A second man, who also had a Liverpool accent, was described as white, approximately 5ft 9/ 5ft 10 inches tall, of skinny build and wearing a black balaclava over his face. He was wearing a black jacket with a zip up front, which had a velcro covering over the zip. He was also wearing black gloves, black trousers and black shoes.
A third offender, who was carrying a crowbar, was described as white, approximately 6ft 2/ 6ft 3 inches tall, of stocky build. His face was concealed by a black scarf and he was also wearing a grey woolen hat over his head. He was wearing dark grey tracksuite pants, which had blue or black striped down each leg.
Anyone who has information relating to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 799 of 17/11/2014. Alternatively information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
