ORFORD student Daniel Miller won the bronze award in the Best Newcomer Category at the Student Radio Awards 2014, supported by BBC Radio 1 and Global.
Daniel, 22, is studying Interactive Multi-Media at Warrington Collegiate and collected the award at London’s indigO2, presented by Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw and Dave Berry from Global.
He said: “I’m over the moon! As the only college student in a category dominated by universities this is fantastic achievement. I’ve had a wonderful time, networking with the great and the good from student radio in the UK. This is where my future lies.”
Daniel was accompanied by fellow student, 18 year old Matthew Hubble, from Padgate. After tweeting their success, Daniel and Matthew joined by other award winners on their table in celebrating their win with champagne.
Having made some valuable contacts at the awards, Daniel is planning to work in student radio after completing his course at Warrington Collegiate.
