A MEMORIAL plaque has been unveiled at Croft, near Warrington, in remembrance of 20 local soldiers who lost their lives during World War One.
The ceremony took place at Croft Village Memorial Hall and was attended by local dignitaries, members of the Royal British Legion, the hall committee, family members and local residents.
Members of Croft Air Training Corps were also present and one of their number sounded the Last Post and Reveille on the bugle.
This was following by bagpipe music also played by an ATC member.
Instigator of the plaque proposal was Alan Sharpe, a local farmer, who sadly died earlier this year.
His son, Philip, placed a wreath of poppies on the plaque.
